Dunkiel Saunders is pleased to announce the expansion of its intellectual property (IP) law practice with the addition of patent attorney, Shawn Gordon. Shawn is a registered patent attorney that comes to Dunkiel Saunders after several years of private practice in Montpelier, Vermont representing individuals and companies in all areas of IP. Shawn previously worked as an associate in law firms in Boston and Minneapolis. He was also a clerk in the United States International Trade Commission’s intellectual property enforcement division. Shawn has experience in complex patent litigation and has assisted clients on a variety of technologies at the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Born and raised in northeastern Pennsylvania, Shawn now makes his home in Vermont’s capital with his wife, two children, and a very needy woodstove. Shawn enjoys the outdoors and as such can regularly be found enjoying Montpelier’s Hubbard Park Montpelier with his yellow Lab.
Shawn will focus on patent prosecution and litigation, as well as provide additional support in the firm’s IP practice group, which currently includes patent attorney Justin McCabe and trademark attorneys Karen Tyler and Victoria Westgate. Dunkiel Saunders’ IP attorneys handle matters related to domestic and international patents and trademarks: valuation, licensing, and transfer of IP; trade secret protection and enforcement; IP portfolio management; and IP litigation. The firm’s patent attorneys have experience writing and prosecuting patent applications in many technology areas including mechanical, consumer products, aerospace, electrical, materials, optical, medical devices, medical procedures, computer software, and business methods.
